Kim Herring Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Sophomore recorded a pair of three-point games

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Kim Herring (Dover, N.H./Groton School) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (December 10) for her performance in two home games against UW-Stevens Point last weekend (December 5-6).

Herring, a sophomore forward, helped Lake Forest earn three points in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings by defeating the Pointers 6-1 on Saturday and skating to a 4-4 tie with them on Sunday. She scored three goals in Saturday’s second period for her third career hat trick and she lit the lamp twice and added an assist on Sunday.

Herring leads the NCHA with 14 goals and 22 points so far this season. The point total is also tops in NCAA Division III and she is tied for the national lead in goals. She has recorded at least one point in each of the team’s 10 games this season and has four three-point performances in the last five contests.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
