Foresters Fall Twice to UW-River Falls
Lake Forest's overall record now stands at 4-3-1 

LAKE FOREST, IL - Visiting UW-River Falls swept Lake Forest College in a two-game women's hockey series on Friday (December 1st) and Saturday (December 2nd).

The Falcons (6-2-0) won 3-1 in the first game and 5-0 the next day.

Lake Forest (4-3-1) was swept for the first time this season.

The Foresters jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on Friday on a goal by Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL / Grantie City Senior H.S.), assisted by Lydia Groskin (Stowe, VT / North American Hockey Academy), at the 13:14 mark of the first period. It was Slater's sixth goal of the season. 

But the Falcons would score three times in the second period for the victory.

Lake Forest's Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC / National Sports Academy) recorded 36 saves in a losing effort, while her counterpart, Stephanie Seiler, had 18 saves.

On Saturday, River Falls turned a 1-0 lead into a 5-0 final with four goals in the third period. Beth Betker scored two goals, including the game-winner for the Falcons. 

Taylor stopped 32 shots on goal and allowed the first three goals in 53 minutes and Anne Nitzkowski (Mankato, MN / Mankato East H.S.) had six saves and two goals allowed in the final seven minutes. Jill Janikowski needed 10 saves to record the shutout for River Falls.

Lake Forest will return to action in two weeks when the travel to UW-Superior on Friday (December 1st) for the first game of a two-game series.
