Mel Guillermo leads the team with 4 assists and 6 points.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women's hockey player Mel Guillermo (North Las Vegas, NV/Culver Academy) was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week Tuesday (December 2) for her contributions to the Foresters' series split with Concordia College this past weekend (November 29-30).

Guillermo assisted on a pair of first period goals in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Concordia. The scores gave the Foresters a 2-1 lead but the team was unable to hold off the Cobbers.

On Sunday, the sophomore forward scored her first goal of the season at the 3:02 mark of the second period to tie the game 1-1. She assisted on another Lake Forest goal just three minutes and 44 seconds later and scored the eventual game winner at 13:17 of the same period. Concordia scored twice in the third but the Foresters held on for the 4-3 victory.

Guillermo leads the team with four assists and six points this year despite missing the first two games while competing for the school's women's soccer team.

The NCHA Player of the Week is selected by the league's sports information director.
