LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Lake Forest College women's hockey team skated to a 4-4 tie at home with Concordia University Wisconsin Tuesday night. The Foresters are now 4-3-1 overall this season and 2-2-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. The Falcons are 1-5-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the league.

Concordia started the scoring at the 11:42 mark of the opening period. The Foresters responded with a power play goal by freshman Melissa Kravich (Wilmette, Ill./Gustavus College) at 13:53. Her sixth sxore of the season was assisted sophomore Sam Herron (Clinton Township, Mich./Victory Honda) and a 6-on-3 skater advantage. Two Falcons were already in the penalty box when the official's hand was raised, signalling for another penalty on the visitors. Lake Forest sophomore goaltender Alyssa Wintermute (Belmont, Ontario/St. Thomas Panthers) quickly headed to the bench and, for the 12 seconds prior to Kravich's goal, the Foresters had twice as many skaters on the ice as Concordia. The visitors regained the lead at 15:56 but Lake Forest tied the game again with just 15 seconds remaining in the period on freshman Jessica Dare's (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Belle Tire) first career goal.

The Falcons took the lead for the third time in the contest at the 13:20 mark of the second period. Forester freshman Meghan Fosth (Lake Stevens, Wash./National Sports Academy) then converted a power play opportunity at 16:54 to even the score at three. Sophomore Lynn Switaj (Avon Lake, Ohio/Ohio Flames) assisted on Fosth's second goal of the year.

The home team took its first lead of the game at the 9:49 mark of the third period on Herron's first goal of the season. She was assisted by freshman Mira Trebilcock (South Porcupine, Ontario/Trinity College School). Concordia then tied the score for good with 1:20 remaining in regulation.

Lake Forest will continue NCHA play at home this weekend (December 5-6). The Foresters will host UW-River Falls at 7:00 Friday night and UW-Eau Claire Saturday afternoon at 2:00. Both contests can be heard live on the campus radio station (88.9 WMXM) or over the internet at www.wmxm.org.
