STEVENS POINT, WI - The Forester women's hockey team put some pressure on UW-Stevens Point, the fourth-ranked team in the country, but could was unable to pull out a victory aver the Pointers in two tries this weekend (December 6-7). The score on Friday night was 7-1 and Saturday's final was 3-2. The losses drop Lake Forest's overall record to 7-3-1 and the team's Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 2-3-1. Stevens Point is now 9-0-1 over all and 4-0-0 in the NCHA.

Senior forward Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL/Granite City) put the Foresters on the scoreboard first Friday night at the 3:52 mark of the second period with her fourth goal of the season. Unfortunately for Lake Forest, the lead was short-lived as the home team tied the game just 72 seconds later and added three more goals in the period.

Stevens Point tallied three additional scores in the third period and out-shot the Foresters 38-12 in the game.

On Saturday, the visitors scored first again on freshman defender Jess Healy's (Kentville, NS/ Westminster School) goal at the 13:43 mark in the first period. Sophomore forward Lindsey Wild (Inver Grove Heights, MN/Rosemount) recorded her sixth assist of the year on Healy's second career goal. The Pointers scored at the 15:57 mark and the period ended with teams tied, 1-1.

Six minutes and 23 seconds into the second period, Lake Forest regained a one-goal advantage on Guillermo's third score of 2002-03. Slater and Caligiuri recorded their fourth and sixth assists of the season, respectively. Junior goaltender Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC/National Sports Academy), who finished the game with 40 saves, held UWSP scoreless for the period, despite 14 shots on goal.

In the third, however, the home team slipped two past Taylor and held the Foresters without a score on just three shots on goal for the win.
