Foresters Play Tough Against Nation's #5 Team
Stevens Point defeats Lake Forest 2-0 twice

STEVENS POINT, WI - The Forester women's hockey team lost a pair of 2-0 decisions at UW-Stevens Point over the weekend (December 6-7). The Pointers entered the Saturday-Sunday series ranked fifth in the nation and raised their record to 6-1-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. Lake Forest fell to 2-9-1 overall and 0-6-0 in the league.

After a scoreless first period on Saturday, Stevens Point scored at the 4:12 mark of the second and the 15:05 mark of the third. Forester freshman goaltender Sally Bevis (Richmond, VT/North American Hockey Adademy) tallied a career-high 48 saves in a losing effort.

Sunday's game was scoreless until the 9:33 mark of the third period. The Pointers scored their second goal less than a minute-and-a-half later. Senior Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC/National Sports Academy) was in goal for the Foresters and recorded a season-high 43 saves.

Lake Forest has completed the 2003 portion of its schedule and will open 2004 with a trip to the east coast. The Foresters will play at Middlebury College on Tuesday, January 6, at Williams College the following evening, and at Plattsburgh State University on Friday, January 9.
