Courtney DeHoey is tied for the team lead with 18 points.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Courtney DeHoey (Chatham, ON/Bluewater Jr. Hawks) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (December 8) for her contributions to Lake Forest’s 1-0-2 record in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play during the previous seven days. The team moved into first place in the league standings.

The Foresters won 3-2 in overtime at UW-Eau Claire Saturday (December 3) afternoon and tied the Blugolds 2-2 on Sunday (December 4). DeHoey, a sophomore forward, assisted on one of the team’s goals in game one.

On Tuesday (December 6), Lake Forest traveled to UW-Stevens Point and skated to a dramatic 2-2 tie against the nation’s sixth-ranked team. DeHoey scored her first goal of the game at the 10:24 mark of the second period to tie the score at one. The Pointers regained the lead and appeared to have the victory clinched when DeHoey pushed the puck across the line just before the final buzzer sounded. Neither team was able to score in five minutes of overtime.

DeHoey is tied for the team lead with 18 points and ranks second and third, respectively, with nine goals and nine assists.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by members of the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
