Lake Forest Drops Two at Superior
Foresters will take 4-5-1 record into the Holiday break 

SUPERIOR, WI - UW-Superior beat visiting Lake Forest College 4-2 on Friday (December 8th) and 7-0 on Saturday (December 9th) in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Division action.

UW-Superior (8-1, 6-1) has lost just once this season, while Lake Forest (4-5-1) dropped their fourth straight contest. 

On Friday evening, Superior's Ivana Novkovic opened the scoring at the 4:18 mark of the first period and Superior took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Lake Forest's Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL / Grantie City Senior H.S.) tied the game less than five minutes into the second period, before Superior closed out the period with two goals, including Novkovic's second goal of the game.

Aja Dailey (Ketchum, ID / New Hampton Prep School) cut the lead to 3-2 at 1:51 in the final period before Mika Sharpe gave Superior an insurance goal at 10:03 of the third period. 

Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC / National Sports Academy) had 45 saves while allowing four goals and Superior's Kelly Timm had 11 saves in 13 shots on goal.

The following day, Superior got four goals from Sharpe, including the first two scores of the game, on their way to the 7-0 victory. 

Timm stopped all 14 shots on the goal for the shutout, while Taylor had 31 saves and four goals allowed in the game's first two periods before giving way to Anne Nitzkowski (Mankato, MN / Mankato East H.S.), who had 12 saves and three goals allowed in the third period.

Lake Forest will be off until January 19th when the Foresters host UW-Stevens Point for the first game of a two-game series.
