Sunday's 7-2 loss is last game of semester for Lake Forest

Sara Finesilver scored her first goal of the season on Sunday.
LAKE FOREST, IL - The Foresters were unable to give the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team their first loss of the 2001-02 season this weekend. After a 3-1 loss to the Pointers on Saturday (December 8th), Lake Forest fell to the nation's fourth-ranked (US College Hockey Online) team 7-2 on Sunday (December 9th).

Stevens Point jumped ahead early with four goals in the first period. Another goal by the visitors at the 3:35 mark in the second made the score 5-0.

Lake Forest sophomore forward Sara Finesilver (Aspen, CO) put the home team on the scoreboard with her first goal of the season with just less than five minutes to play in the second period.

The Foresters opened the third period scoring with the fourth goal of the year for freshman forward Robyn Shea (St. John's, Newfoundland).

Stevens Point scored two more times in the third to put the game out of reach.

Freshman forward Lindsey Wild (Inver Grove Heights, MN) assisted on both Lake Forest goals, giving her a team-high nine for the season.

The Foresters are now 4-7-1 on the season and 0-6-0 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. The games against Stevens Point were the last of the semester. Their next games will be on January 11th (7:30) and 12th (2:00) when they host UW-Eau Claire.
