Forester's Win Over Nation's 9th-Ranked Team is Taylor-Made
Taylor 'saves' the day by stopping 40 of 41 shots on goal

Theresa Taylor saved 40 of 41 shots in Saturday's win over 9th-ranked UW-Superior.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College freshman goaltender Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC) recorded 40 saves and Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL) and Laura Beebe (Sudbury, MA) each scored a goal as the Foresters stunned visiting UW-Superior, 2-1, on Saturday (February 3rd).

Superior (14-4-0, 12-4-0 NCHA) entered the game ranked ninth in the nation according to U.S. College Hockey Online, while Lake Forest (7-10-1, 3-10-1 NCHA) beat a ranked team for the first time in school history. It was the third win the last six games for the Foresters.

Beebe's fifth goal of the season, which came on the power play, broke a 1-1 tie with 1:21 remaining in the second period and gave Lake Forest, and Taylor, the cushion they needed. Taylor stopped all 17 of Superior's shots on goal in the final period, when LF was out-shot 17 to five.

Slater scored just over 14 minutes into the contest to give Lake Forest a 1-0 lead. Superior would tie the game at the 14:24 mark of the second period.

On Friday, Superior jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period and held out for a 3-1 victory. Sara Finesilver (Aspen, CO) scored the Forester's only goal and Taylor finished with 30 saves.

Lake Forest will host University of Wisconsin's club team next weekend for a pair of games. Friday's (February 16th) game will begin at 7:30, while Saturday's contest will start at 2:00.
