Foresters Swept by Nation’s Seventh-Ranked Team
Stevens Point records pair of shutouts

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester women’s hockey team was defeated twice over the weekend (January 31-February 1) by UW-Stevens Point, the nation’s seventh-ranked team. The Pointers knocked off Lake Forest 6-0 on Saturday and 3-0 on Sunday to raise their overall record to 13-4-4 and their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark to 9-2-1. The Foresters fell to 2-18-1 overall and 0-12-0 in the league.

Stevens Point scored three times in the first period of Saturday’s game, once in the second, and twice in the third stanza. The visitors out-shot Lake Forest 42-12 in the contest.

On Sunday, the Pointers scored a goal in each period and put 36 shots on goal in the game. The Foresters forced Stevens Point’s goalie to record 14 saves for the shutout.

After a weekend off, Lake Forest will host UW-River Falls (11-8-1, 7-4-1 NCHA) on February 14-15. The teams will face off at 7:00 Saturday night and at 2:00 Sunday afternoon.
