Erin McGrath led the team with six goals this season.
EAU CLAIRE, WI - The Forester women’s hockey team dropped a pair of Northern Collegiate Hockey Association games at UW-Eau Claire over the weekend (February 20-21). The Foresters fell 3-0 to the Blugolds on Friday and 2-1 in overtime on Saturday. It was the final weekend series of the year for Lake Forest, who finished with a 2-22-1 overall record and a 0-16-0 mark in NCHA play. Eau Claire goes into next weekend’s NCHA Tournament as the #4 seed at 10-13-2 overall and 5-11-0 in the league.

Eau Claire scored one goal in Friday’s first period and two in the third. The home team out-shot the Foresters 27-15 in the game.

On Saturday, Forester sophomore forward Erin McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) scored her team-high sixth goal of the year with 7:32 remaining in the opening period. Sophomore defender Andrea Richmond (Enfield, NH/Northfield Mount Hermon School) was credited with the assist, her second of the year. The home team tied the score, however, just 64 seconds later.

After nearly 46 minutes of scoreless hockey, the Blugolds scored the game-winner with 29 seconds remaining in the five-minute overtime period.

Senior goaltender Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC/National Sports Academy) concluded her career with a 43-save performance. The program’s first four-year letter winner tallied 2,457 stops as a Forester and posted a .910 career save percentage. She led the NCHA in saves three times and earned all-conference honors twice. She was the team’s only senior this season.
