Freshman goaltender Alyssa Wintermute (Belmont, Ont./St. Thomas Panthers) recorded 15 saves while holding the Falcons scoreless for two periods to earn the victory. Sophomore Charlotte Capaldo (Norwalk, Conn./Kingston Ice Wolves) played the entire third period and stopped seven of nine shots on goal in her first action of the season. Sophomore Ryann McCarthy (Lombard, Ill./Team Illinois) was between the pipes on Sunday and tallied 27 saves in 29 chances.

DeHoey and Switaj assisted on Wilson’s 10th goal of the season with 2:36 remaining in the first period.

Gotowka then took over the national lead with her 11th power play goal of the season just 22 seconds later. DeHoey and Rushing assisted on Gotowka’s 12th score overall. The Falcons cut the lead back down to two less than a minute later but would not score again. Rushing closed out the scoring with a power play goal at 17:50.
