Robyn Slater capped
off a stellar career
with a hat trick.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College hockey player Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL/Granite City Senior) was named Forester Athlete of the Week for leading her team to a third-place finish in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament over the weekend (February 21-22). It was the best league finish for the Foresters in their three-year history.

After her team was held scoreless in a semifinal loss Friday and in the first period of Saturday's third-place game, the senior captain got Lake Forest on the board with a goal at the 3:22 mark of the second period. The floodgates opened after that, with Slater assisting on one goal and scoring two more before the period ended. The Foresters would go on to win 7-1.

Slater's hat trick was the fifth of her career. She was named First Team All-NCHA for the third consecutive year and will graduate as the Lake Forest record-holder with 50 goals, 28 assists and 78 points.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
