DeHoey Named First Team All-NCHA, Gotowka Honorable Mention

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association released it All-NCHA Teams on Thursday (February 28) and Lake Forest College’s Courtney DeHoey (Chatham, Ont./Bluewater Sr. Hawks) was named to the First Team and Kerry Gotowka (West Simsbury, Conn./Westminster School) was an Honorable Mention selection.

DeHoey, a senior forward, leads the team with 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists. Her 17 points on nine goals and eight assists during NCHA play rank tied-for-eighth in the league. She is the Foresters’ all-time leader with 97 points, 53 goals, and 44 assists in her career. DeHoey also earned First Team All-NCHA honors last year and was later named First Team All-American West by U.S. College Hockey Online. She was an Honorable Mention All-NCHA selection as a sophomore.

Gotowka, a senior defenseman, has 17 points so far this season on 12 goals and five assists. Her 11 power play goals currently lead the nation. She ranks tied-for-eighth in the league with nine goals in NCHA play and is tied for fourth among the conference’s defensemen with 11 points during league games.

Lake Forest enters this weekend's (February 29-March 2) six-team NCHA O'Brien Cup Tournament at UW-Superior with an 11-10-4 overall record. The team finished the regular season with a 7-8-3 mark in NCHA play and will face off against UW-Eau Claire in the tourney's quarterfinal round Friday night at 7:00. The winner will play in the semifinals on Saturday at either 2:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. Sunday's third-place game will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the championship will follow at 2:00 in the afternoon.
