Foresters Prevail 2-1 at Wisconsin-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Lake Forest College women's hockey team posted a 2-1 victory at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Friday night (February 6). The Foresters raised their overall record on the season to 10-9-1 and evened their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association mark at 6-6-1. The Blugolds fell to 11-6-3 overall and 6-5-2 in league play.

The only goal of the opening period was scored by Lake Forest sophomore Lynn Switaj (Avon Lake, Ohio/Ohio Flames) with 2:25 remaining before the first intermission. Freshman Mira Trebilcock (South Porcupine, Ontario/Trinity College School) assisted on the fourth goal of the season by Switaj.

Eau Claire tied the contest on a power play goal at 13:17 in the second stanza.

The game remained tied until Forester junior Sam Pinsonneault (Manchester, N.H./New Hampton School) lit the lamp for the second time this season with 6:33 to play in the third period. Freshman Kim Herring (Dover, N.H./Groton School) earned the assist.

Sophomore goalie Alyssa Wintermute (Belmont, Ontario/St. Thomas Panthers) turned all but one of the Blugold's 31 shots on goal to raise her save record on the year to 9-8-1 and save percentage to .907.

The same two teams will face off in Eau Claire again Saturday night (February 7) at 7:00.
