Lake Forest Falls at Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Splits Weekend Series

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Forester women's hockey team was defeated 4-1 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Saturday night (February 7). Lake Forest had defeated Eau Claire in their previous two meetings this season, including a 2-1 decision the previous night, and is now 10-10-1 overall and 6-7-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. The Blugolds raised their overall record to 12-6-3 and league mark to 7-5-2.

Eau Claire started the scoring with a power play goal at the 9:41 mark of the opening period and then added an even-strength score 90 seconds later.

The home team extended its lead to 3-0 at 1:50 in the second. The Foresters got on the scoreboard five minutes later on freshman Jessica Dare's (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Belle Tire) second goal of the season. She was assisted by Courtney Bean (Peoria, Ill./Team Illinois), who is second ont he team with 15 assists and ranks tied-for-second in the nation in points by a defenseman (19).

The Blugolds scored the game's final goal with 9:33 to play in the contest.

The Foresters will host UW-Stevens Point next weekend (February 13-14). The teams will face off at 7:00 Friday night and 2:00 to following afternoon. Lake Forest will celebrate Parents Day on Friday and Senior Day on Saturday.
