Foresters Fall Twice to UW-Eau Claire

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester women’s hockey team was defeated twice at home over the weekend (January 16-17) by UW-Eau Claire. The Blugolds skated off with a 5-0 victory on Friday and a 1-0 triumph on Saturday, raising their record to 6-8-2 overall and 2-6-0 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. Lake Forest fell to 2-14-1 overall and 0-8-0 in the league.

After a scoreless first period on Friday, Eau Claire erupted for four goals in the second. The Blugolds tacked on one more score in the third to record the 5-0 win.

On Saturday, Eau Claire scored the game’s only goal at the 14:15 mark of the first period.

Senior goaltender Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC/National Sports Academy) stopped 33 of 34 shots on goal in Saturday’s contest.

Lake Forest will be on the road next weekend (January 23-24) at UW-Superior (12-2-1, 7-1-0 NCHA). The teams will face off at 7:00 Friday night and again at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
