Nation's Sixth-Ranked Team Takes Two From Lake Forest
Foresters look ahead to big series at UW-Eau Claire

LAKE FOREST, IL - A week after falling twice to UW-Stevens Point, now the nation's fourth-ranked team (US College Hockey Online), the Lake Forest College women's hockey team had to take on the sixth-ranked team, UW-Superior. The Yellowjackets completed the weekend sweep of the Foresters with an 8-0 win on Friday (January 25th) and a 7-0 victory on Saturday (January 26th).

Lake Forest played well for two periods Friday, giving up just one goal in the first and two in the second. In the final frame, however, Superior erupted for five goals and preserved the shutout.

On Saturday, the visitors scored three times in the first and twice in each of the final two periods.

Next weekend, Lake Forest will travel to UW-Eau Claire and will play at 7:05 both Friday and Saturday nights. Eau Claire leads the Foresters by just two points for the final spot in the season-ending four-team Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament. The teams split their first series this year.
