Sam Herron Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Sophomore tied a school record with five points in a game

Sam Herron
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Sam Herron (Clinton Township, Mich./Victory Honda) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (January 8) for her performance in a pair of victories over visiting Augsburg College earlier in the week (January 4-5).

Herron, a sophomore forward, tied a school record with five points in Monday’s 8-1 triumph. She assisted on the Foresters’ first two goals, scored the next two, and added an assist later in the contest. Her second goal of the day was the team’s first shorthanded score of the season.

Lake Forest also defeated Augsburg 2-1 the previous day.

Herron is the fourth player in team history to record four points in a single game and the first since a pair of Foresters accomplished the feat in the 2005-06 season opener.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
