RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The Lake Forest College women's hockey team fell 4-1 to UW-Superior Sunday (March 1) in the third-place game of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association O'Brien Cup Tournament at UW-River Falls. The Foresters finished the season with a record of 12-15-1 while the Yellowjackets went 17-8-2.

Lake Forest scored the only goal of the opening period at 4:51. The unassisted score was the seventh goal of the season for sophomore Lynn Switaj (Avon Lake, Ohio/Ohio Flames), who had a point in each of the Foresters' three tournament games.

Sophomore goaltender Brittany Lemke (St. Charles, Ill./St. Mary's University) recorded 14 saves in the first period and held Superior scoreless until the 14:23 mark of the second. The Yellowjackets scored again less than two minutes later and led 2-1 at the second intermission.

Superior extended the margin to two goals at 12:14 in the third period and then closed out the scoring by converting a power play opportunity at 15:03.

Lemke finished the game with 36 saves, her highest single-game total in five appearances as a Forester.

It was Lake Forest's second consecutive O'Brien Cup Tournament fourth-place finish after the Foresters finished third at the event in 2007. The team will not lose any players to graduation this spring.
