Allison Rushing and Sally Bevis Named First Team All-NCHA
Five other Foresters earn honorable mention honors

LAKE FOREST, IL - The 2005-06 Women’s All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Teams were released Thursday (March 2). Two Lake Forest players were named to the First Team and five others earned Honorable Mention status.

Junior goaltender Sally Bevis (Huntington, NY/North American Hockey Academy) was a First Team choice after tying for the league lead with 377 saves during NCHA play. She also posted a 2.40 goals against average and .922 save percentage in conference games. Bevis was an Honorable Mention All-NCHA selection last season.

Sophomore Allison Rushing (Seattle, WA/Seattle Admirals) was a First Team choice on defense. She ranked second among the league’s defensive player with nine points on two goals and seven assists during NCHA play.

Lake Forest’s five Honorable Mention selections were senior forward Lil Caligiuri (Wheaton, IL/Culver Academy), sophomore forward Laura Wilson (Coronna, ON/Sarnia Sting), senior defenseman Darby McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids), sophomore forward Courtney DeHoey (Chatham, ON/Bluewater Jr. Hawks), and freshman forward Dayna Kanis (Georgetown, ON/Etobicoke Dolphins). Caligiuri is now a three-time Honorable Mention selection. The Foresters’ all-time leader in assists recorded eight points on two goals and six assists during league play this season. Wilson, who was also an Honorable Mention choice last year, scored 10 points in conference games on seven goals and three assists. Each of McGrath’s four goals in league play came on the power play and she added a pair of assists. DeHoey and Kanis tied for ninth in the league with 11 points during NCHA games. DeHoey scored four times and was tied-for-fifth with seven assists while Kanis recorded two assists and tied for third with nine goals.

The Foresters’ two First Team honorees matches their total from 2000-01 and 2002-03 while their seven selections overall are at least three more than in any other season.
