in her first three games.
ST. PAUL, MN - The Lake Forest College women's hockey team completed a three-game weekend sweep in the Twin Cities Sunday (November 10) with a 4-3 victory at Hamline University. The team had opened its 2002-03 season by defeating Augsburg College both Friday (November 8) and Saturday (November 9) afternoons.

Sophomore forward Lindsey Wild (Inver Grove Heights, MN) started Sunday's scoring less than a minute-and-a-half into the game. The unassisted goal was her first of the season. Hamline's Heather Olson tied the score with the first periods only other goal at the 8:56 mark.

There were two scores in the second period, both by Lake Forest freshman forward Emily Blegen (Elk River, MN). Her first goal of the game came at the 5:34 mark and was assisted by fellow freshman forward Nicki Paquette (Moncton, NB). Freshman defender Jess Healy (Kentville, NS) and senior forward Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL) assisted on her second of the period, which was scored at the 18:50 mark.

Hamline pulled to within one goal just a minute into the third period and tied the score with 14:53 remaining in the game. However, Blegen scored her third goal of the afternoon and sixth of the weekend with exactly eight minutes left off a pass from Slater and the Foresters held on for the one-goal victory.

Blegen's hat trick is the fifth in the program's history. Slater recorded each of the other four last year, including two (seven goals in all) in a weekend series at home against Hamline.

Lake Forest will begin Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play with a pair of games at UW-Superior next weekend (November 16-17). The Saturday and Sunday afternoon contests will both begin at 2:00 p.m.
