November 13, 2004 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Lake Forest Sweeps St. Mary’s in Season’s First Home Series The Foresters scored a goal in each period Friday night, beginning with the first of freshman Kerry Gotowka’s (West Simsbury, CT/Westminster School) career at the 10:34 mark of the opening stanza. Junior Erin McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) as credited with her team-high fourth assists of the season on what turned out to be the game winner. Freshmen Ali Neal (Wolfboro Falls, NH/Holderness School) and Laura Wilson (Coronna, ON/Sarnia Sting) each converted Forester power play opportunities to account for the team’s other two goals. Neal’s unassisted score occurred at the 14:14 mark of the second period and she assisted Wilson at 17:11 in the third. Both players now have two goals this season. Sophomore goaltender Sally Bevis (Huntington, NY/North American Hockey Academy) tallied 24 saves en route to her first career shutout. She added 24 more stops on Saturday while surrendering just one goal to post a stellar .980 save percentage on the weekend. Freshman Courtney DeHoey (Chatham, ON/Bluewater Jr. Hawks) also scored her second goal of the year at the 11:45 mark of Saturday’s opening period. Wilson assisted on the power play score. After more than 31 minutes of scoreless hockey, the home team pulled ahead by two with a goal by senior Nichole Greco’s (Franklin Park, IL/Chicago Young Americans) at the 3:14 mark of the third period. Sophomore Darby McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) and junior Lil Caligiuri (Wheaton, IL/Culver Academy) were each credited with an assist on Greco’s first of the season. St. Mary’s finally scored its only goal of the weekend with 9:51 remaining in the contest. Lake Forest will open Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play at home next weekend (November 20-21). The Foresters will host UW-Stevens Point, last year’s NCAA Division III runner-up, Saturday night at 7:30 and UW-Eau Claire Sunday afternoon at 2:00. Friday's Box Score
