Laura Wilson Named NCHA Player of the Week
Sophomore netted three goals and dished out an assist in weekend sweep

  

Laura Wilson scored twice and dished out an assist against Augsburg College.
LAKE FOREST, IL -Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Laura Wilson (Coronna, ON/Sarnia Sting) was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week Monday (November 14) for her performance in the Foresters’ series sweep of Augsburg College over the weekend (November 12-13).

On Saturday, Wilson scored twice in the third period and was credited with the assist on sophomore Allison Rushing’s (Seattle, WA/Seattle Admirals) first career goal, as the Foresters beat Augsburg 6-0. The following afternoon, the sophomore scored her second goal of the weekend at 3:54 in the second period and Lake Forest held on to defeat Augsburg 3-2 to record the series sweep.

In Lake Forest’s first five contests of the year, the team is 4-1-0 and Wilson is tied for the team lead in goals (6) and assists (5), and leads the team with 11 points.

Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Players of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director.
