Sally Bevis Named NCHA Player of the Week
Goalie earns first career shutout

  

Sally Bevis earned her first career shutout on Friday.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Sally Bevis (Huntington, NY/North American Hockey Academy) was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week Tuesday (November 16) for her performance in the Foresters’ series sweep of St. Mary’s University over the weekend (November 12-13).

Bevis recorded her first career shutout in the team’s 3-0 triumph over the Cardinals on Friday. She tallied 24 saves in the game, including 20 in the final two periods.

On Saturday, Bevis remained perfect until, with the Foresters leading 2-0, St. Mary’s finally scored their only goal of the weekend at the 10:09 mark of the third period. She stopped 24 Cardinal shots on goal for the second straight day.

With 48 saves in 49 opportunities (.980 save pct.) over the weekend, Bevis raised her save percentage for the season to .922. She is 2-0-2 on the year and has played every minute of the team’s first four games.
