SUPERIOR, WI - After opening the season with four consecutive victories against teams outside the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, the Forester women's hockey team found the going much more difficult in their league-opening weekend at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. The Yellowjackets defeated Lake Forest 5-3 on Friday (November 16th) night and 5-0 Saturday (November 17th) afternoon.

In Friday's game, junior forward Robyn Slater (Granite City, IL) scored three times to record her third straight hat trick. The three goals give Slater a team-leading 12 for the season after just five games.

After Superior scored three times in the first period, Slater found the back of the net twice in the second. The first goal was unassisted while the second came from freshman forward Nicholoe Greco (Franklin Park, IL). The home team scored two more times before Slater's third goal of the contest accounted for the game's final score.

On Saturday, the Yellowjackets scored twice in the first period and three times in the second while shutting out the Foresters. Lake Forest sophomore goaltender Theresa Taylor (Spartanburg, SC) saved a season-high 49 shots in the loss.

The Foresters will be back on the road next weekend (November 23-24th) when they travel to Bethel College for a Friday night - Saturday afternoon series. Their next game in the NCHA will be the following weekend (November 30th-December 1st) when they host UW-River Falls.
