Caligiuri Breaks Pair of School Records for Assists in Sweep of Finlandia The Forester took a 2-0 lead in Friday’s opening period. Senior Darby McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) scored a power play goal just 2:33 into the contest off an assist from sophomore Allison Rushing (Seattle, WA/Seattle Admirals). Sophomore Laura Wilson (Coronna, ON/Sarnia Sting) then lit the lamp at 14:40 with seniors Andrea Richmond (Enfield, NH/Northfield Mount Hermon School) and Lil Caligiuri (Wheaton, IL/Culver Academy) each earning an assist. After Finlandia scored at 8:31 and 18:50 of the second stanza to tie the game, junior Michelle Ricketts (Rochester, MI/Honeybaked) netted her fourth goal and third game winner of the year at the 6:02 mark of the third. Senior Erin McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) recorded the assist. Junior Sally Bevis (Huntington, NY/North American Hockey Academy) recorded 17 saves in Friday’s game and 21 on Saturday. She is now 5-1-0 with two shutouts and a 2.15 goals against average this year. Rushing led off the scoring on Saturday at 8:50 in the opening period. Caligiuri recorded an assist on Rushing’s goal and joined her in assisting Darby McGrath on a power play score just 75 seconds later. It was McGrath’s third goal of the year and closed out the first period scoring. Junior Katie Snowden’s (Toronto, ON/Willowdale Redwings) goal at 15:29 in the second was unassisted and her first of the season. Sixteen seconds later, Rushing scored again for her first career two-goal game. Ricketts and Erin McGrath assisted on Rushing’s third goal of the year. Freshman Dayna Kanis (Georgetown, ON/Etobicoke Dolphins) scored the first of four Forester goals in the final 20 minutes. Her seventh of the season, a shorthanded goal, was assisted by sophomore Courtney DeHoey (Chatham, ON/Bluewater Jr. Hawks) just 49 seconds in to the period. Wilson, who led last year’s team with nine goals, scored her eighth of 2005-06 at 3:21, her ninth on the power play at 10:22, and her 10th at 14:02. It was her first career hat trick. Freshman Jenn Hill (Cheektowaga, NY/Nichols School) recorded an assist on the first, DeHoey and Caligiuri on the second, and Caligiuri and junior Tina Wyzgowski (North Street, MI/Niagara University) on the third. Caligiuri is the first player in team history with four assists in a game and she also became the program’s all-time leader with 35 helpers in her career. The Foresters will play twice at Concordia College’s Cobber Thanksgiving Tournament next weekend (November 25-26) in Moorhead, Minnesota. The team will face off against Hamline University at 3:00 Friday afternoon and will take on the hosts Saturday evening at 5:00. Friday's Box Score
