November 27, 2004 Contact: Mike Wajerski, SID Lake Forest Splits Pair of 2-1 Decisions at Concordia-Moorhead The Foresters scored Friday’s first goal, which was also the first of sophomore Tina Wyzgowski’s (North Street, MI/Niagara University) Lake Forest career. The unassisted score came just two minutes and 44 seconds into the contest. The score remained 1-0 until, just 37 seconds into the third period, the Cobbers converted a power play opportunity to tie it at one. The home team then scored the game winner at the 8:49 mark and held off the Foresters for the victory. Lake Forest out-shot Concordia 21-13 over the first two periods and 29-23 in the game. The team that eventually lost scored first again on Saturday. After a scoreless opening period, the Cobbers finally lit the lamp with a power play goal at the 1:13 mark of the second. The Foresters tied the score at 10:14 on junior Erin McGrath’s (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) unassisted goal, her first of the season. The score remained tied at one until the 9:21 mark of the third period when sophomore Darby McGrath (Chippawa, ON/Niagara Rapids) scored for the team-high fourth time this season. Fellow freshman Courtney DeHoey (Chatham, ON/Bluewater Jr. Hawks) assisted on the shorthanded goal, which also turned out to be the game-winner. Sophomore goaltender Sally Bevis (Huntington, NY/North American Hockey Academy) recorded 24 saves to earn the victory. She is now 3-1-3 on the year with a 1.83 goals against average and .932 save percentage. Lake Forest, which is 0-1-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association games, will continue the NCHA portion of its schedule on the road next weekend (December 3-4). The Foresters will play at UW-River Falls Friday night at 7:00 and at UW-Superior at 2:00 Saturday afternoon. Friday Box Score
