Jessica Dare Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Sophomore scored five goals in sweep of St. Mary's

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest College women’s hockey player Jessica Dare (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Belle Tire) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (November 5) for her performance the previous weekend (October 31-November 1) in a sweep of visiting St. Mary’s University.

Dare, a sophomore forward, recorded her first career hat trick Saturday night as Lake Forest erased a 3-0 deficit to prevail 5-4. Dare’s second goal of the contest tied the score at three in the second period and her third tied it again at four in the third.

On Sunday the team blanked the Cardinals 4-0 and Dare scored two more goals, including the first of the game at the 8:46 mark of the opening period. Her third-period score extended the Foresters’ lead to 3-0.

Her five goals on the weekend were one more than she scored during the entire 2008-09 season.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
