William J. Martinov '39
Growing up in Chicago, Illinois, William attended Englewood High School.  He went on to Wilson Junior College before coming to Lake Forest. 

He transferred to Lake Forest in 1937 at the beginning of his junior year and earned two letters in football and two in baseball.  An exceptional fullback, he started on the undefeated 1938 conference champion football team.  He received Honorable Mention All-Conference and shared the top scoring honors with Ken McAllister, which earned them the nickname "the touchdown twins." 

Graduating in 1939 with a Bachelor's degree in history, he went on to work for Commonwealth Edison Company, eventually becoming marketing supervisor.  He stayed with the company until his retirement.  He and his wife Eleanor stay active in their retirement by traveling the globe.
