Foresters Fall Twice at ACM 50th Anniversary Classic
Team defeated by St. Olaf and Carleton


NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Lake Forest College women's soccer team was defeated in both of its games at the Associated Colleges of the Midwest 50th Anniversary Classic over the weekend (August 30-31). The Foresters opened the 2008 season with a 5-0 loss to St. Olaf College on Saturday before falling 2-0 to host Carleton College on Sunday.

St. Olaf scored its first goal at Saturday's contest a second shy of 13 minutes into the game and added first-half tallies at 19:22, 29:46, 31:43, and 40:02. Niether team scored in the second half. Lake Forest senior Alison Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) finished with six saves.

Both of Carleton's goals on Sunday were scored during the opening period as well. The Knights took the lead at 27:51 and closed out the scoring less than three minutes later at 30:15. Lynch recorded 11 saves in the contest.

The Foresters will play their home opener against Milwaukee School of Engineering Wednesday evening (September 3) at 5:00 and will host Benedictine University at the same time on Friday.
