LAKE FOREST, IL - Adidas and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America recently released their All-Central Region and All-American Women’s Soccer Teams and a pair of Lake Forest College players made the lists. Senior sweeper Mei-Yun Gibson (Denver, CO/Eaglecrest) was a Second Team All-American and First Team All-Region selection and junior Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) earned Second Team All-Region honors.

Gibson, the first All-American in the program’s 19-year history, was also named First Team All-Midwest Conference and the league’s first-ever Defensive Player of the Year on November 16. It was her second straight first team all-conference selection. She was named MWC Defensive Performer of the Week twice in 2004 after also achieving the honor twice the previous year. The Foresters posted a 12-1 record in the 13 games in which she played and surrendered a total of just nine goals in those contests.

With 14 goals and 36 points in 2004, Stevenson led Lake Forest in both categories for the second consecutive year. The three-time First Team All-MWC selection ranks second in school history with 40 goals, 28 assists, and 108 points so far in her career.

Lake Forest finished the season with a 14-3-0 overall record and a perfect 9-0-0 mark in the MWC. The Foresters claimed their second MWC title in the last four years and finished the season ranked ninth in the Central Region.
