Assistant Coach Diane Kanney
Coach Kanney is in her sixth season (1996-present) as assistant coach for the Foresters. Kanney has been a part of five winning seasons and two regular season Midwest Conference titles at Lake Forest. 

Prior to arriving on the Lake Forest campus, Kanney was an assistant soccer and softball coach at her alma mater, Bluffton College. While attending Bluffton, Kanney earned a total of seven varsity letters, including three in soccer. Kanney was a four-year letter winner in softball and was twice named All-Conference as a catcher. 

She received her undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education from Bluffton in 1993 and her Master's Degree in Developmental Kinesiology from Bowling Green State University. 

Her responsibilities for the Foresters include working with the defense (primarily the goalkeepers), recruiting, and day-to-day practice. 

In the spring, Kanney serves as Lake Forest's Head Softball Coach. In both 1998 and 2000, she was named the MWC South Division Softball Coach of the Year and, in 1999, guided the Foresters to their first MWC Tournament appearance since 1991.
