LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The All-Midwest Conference women’s soccer teams were released Monday (November 26) and five Lake Forest College players made the lists, including two on the First Team.

Junior Alison Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) was the First Team All-MWC goalkeeper after leading the league with seven complete game shutouts on the season, including four by a 1-0 margin. She surrendered a total of just seven goals in nine conference games and posted a 1.36 goals against average and .806 save percentage overall on the season.

Fellow junior Mallory Davis (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) was also a first team selection. Davis, the Foresters’ sweeper, was also instrumental in the squad’s nine shutouts in 20 games this year. Thanks in large part to the play of Davis and the rest of the defense, Lake Forest opponents averaged just 6.2 shots on goal per game overall and 4.7 during league play.

Senior defender Laura Wilson (Coronna, Ont./Sarnia Collegiate Technical School), junior forward Katie Rice (Centennial, Colo./Eaglecrest), and freshman midfielder Bianca Greene (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica) were Second Team All-MWC selections. Wilson had two assists on was an important part of the team’s defensive exploits on the year. Rice and Greene tied for second on the team with 14 points. Rice was also tied for second on the squad with four goals and Greene shared the team lead with six assists.

It was the sixth time since MWC divisional play ended (1996) that five Forester players earned all-conference honors. Rice was the only player on the team to repeat as an all-conference player. She was a first team selection last year and a second team choice in 2005.

Lake Forest posted an 11-8-1 overall record and a 7-2-0 mark in league play. The Foresters placed third in the MWC regular season standings and defeated second-place St. Norbert College to reach the MWC Tournament final, where they were defeated by conference champion Carroll College.
