LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Emily Weber (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills Upper School) was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week Monday (November 3) for her performance in a pair of one-goal victories the previous two days.

Weber, a sophomore defender, helped limit Illinois College to six shots in Lake Forest’s 1-0 victory over the Lady Blues on Friday. It was the team’s second straight shutout and seventh of the season. The win also clinched a spot for the Foresters in next weekend’s Midwest Conference Tournament.

On Sunday Lake Forest hosted and defeated Monmouth College 3-2 to earn the third seed in the conference tourney. Weber scored the home team’s first goal of the game to tie the score at one midway through the first half. Her second goal of the game put the Foresters ahead 3-1 with 32:37 remaining in the contest.

Weber now ranks fourth on the team with seven points this season on three goals and an assist.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information directors. Weber also earned the award once last season.
