LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Emily Weber (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills Upper School) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (November 6) for her performance in a pair of victories the previous weekend (November 1-2).

Weber, a sophomore defender, helped limit Illinois College to just four shorts on goal in the Foresters’ 1-0 victory over the visiting Lady Blues on Saturday. The was Lake Forest’s second straight 1-0 win and the squad’s seventh shutout of the season.

Weber’s most notable contributions in Sunday’s 3-2 triumph over visiting Monmouth College came at the offensive end of the field where she recorded her first career two-goal game. The first score tied the game at one at the 25:26 mark and the second proved to be an extremely valuable insurance goal that made the score 3-1 with 22:37 to play in the contest.

Friday’s win put the Foresters into the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament and the team clinched the event’s #3 seed on Saturday’s triumph.
