Foresters Defeated by Carroll in Semifinals of MWC Tournament
Team finishes the season 9-9-1

DE PERE, Wis. – The Lake Forest College women's soccer team fell 3-1 to Carroll University Friday (November 7) in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament. The Foresters' season ends with a 9-9-1 record while the Lady Pioneers advance to the tourney final with a mark of 12-5-2.

Carroll scored first in the game's 16th minute and still led 1-0 at halftime.

The Lady Pioneers struck again at the 65:16 mark and added a third goal with 2:27 to play in the contest. Lake Forest got on the scoreboard with 1:11 remaining on the third goal of the season by junior Jocelyn Maneval (Fairfax, Va./James W. Robinson). She was assisted by sophomore Bianca Greene (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica), who led the 2008 squad with 12 points and six assists.

The Foresters will lose goaltenders Alison Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) and Susan Hedrick (Geneva, Ill./Geneva), defenders Mallory Davis (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) and Valentina Galli (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Stevenson), and midfielders Katie Rice (Centennial, Colo./Eaglecrest), Caty von Brecht (Cumberland, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy), and Molly Beste (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) to graduation in May. They helped lead the program to a 36-33-4 overall record and 25-9-2 mark in league play over the last four years. Rice finished her career 15th in team history with 54 points and Lynch's 212 career saves rank fourth.
