Stephanie Fink scored her first goal of the season Saturday.
GRINNELL, IA - The Forester women's soccer team suffered its seventh straight defeat Saturday (October 12), a 2-1 decision at Grinnell College. Lake Forest's overall record drops to 3-7-0 with the loss and its Midwest Conference mark is now 1-3-0.

Lake Forest scored the only goal of the first half when junior captain Stephanie Fink (Menasha, WI/St. Mary Central) found the back of the net in the 14th minute. Sophomore Mei-Yun Gibson (Aurora, CO/Eaglecrest) recorded the assist on Fink's first goal of 2002.

The two Grinnell scores came less than two minutes apart approximately mid-way through the second half. Dana Price scored for the home team at the 71:48 mark and Rachel Moskowitz, who assisted on Price's goal, scored the game-winner at 73:25.

For the fifth consecutive game, senior goalkeeper Rachael LaFin (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West) reached double-figures in saves. Her 10 stops on Saturday gave her 71 this season, putting her on-pace to match the second-highest total in school history.

The Foresters will attempt to "right the ship" on Sunday (October 13) at 1:00 p.m. when they host Beloit College in another MWC match-up. Lake Forest will continue league play on Wednesday (October 16) when Carroll College, who is undefeated in three MWC games, comes to campus.
