Foresters Split Pair of Midwest Conference Games
Team falls to Grinnell, wins at Beloit

BELOIT, WI - The Forester women's soccer team split two Midwest Conference games over the weekend (October 12). Lake Forest fell 3-0 to league-leading Grinnell College on Saturday and won 2-0 at Beloit College on Sunday. The team is 8-2-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference. Grinnell raised its record to 8-3-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the league. Beloit fell to 3-9-0 overall and 2-5-0 in MWC play.

Jessica Beckwith, Kelsey Alford-Jones, and Rachel Moskowitz each scored goals for Grinnell Saturday.

On Sunday, the Forester defense held Beloit to just 11 total shots and freshman goalkeeper Krystine Operzedek (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) recorded two saves in the team's sixth shutout of the year.

Sophomore forward Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) scored both the Lake Forest goals at Beloit. Her first came at the 59:04 mark and the second at 83:18. Stevenson leads the team with 11 goals, 11 assists, and 33 points on the season. Sophomore midfielders Erika Koesling (Lindenhurst, IL/Antioch) andTanya Lopez (Albuquerque, NM/St. Pius X) each recorded an assist in the game.

The Foresters will host Benedictine University in a non-conference game on Wednesday (October 15) at 4:00 p.m. before taking to the road for a pair of conference games next weekend (October 18-19). Lake Forest will play at Illinois College (3-7-1, 1-4-0 MWC) Saturday afternoon and Sunday at Monmouth College (5-4-1, 2-2-1).
