Melissa Stevenson Named MWC Offensive Performer of the Week
Junior scored twice in both Forester victories

Melissa Stevenson scored four times in two games last week.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week Tuesday (October 12) for her contributions to the Foresters’ two victories during the last seven days.

Stevenson scored twice last Tuesday (October5) in Lake Forest’s 7-0 rout of Concordia University (IL). The junior found the back of the net for the Foresters’ second goal of the game at 19:35. After assisting on the team’s fourth goal at 53:49, she scored again just 40 seconds later.

On Saturday (October 9), Stevenson led Lake Forest to a 3-2 come-from-behind triumph at home over Carroll College. She tied the game at two in the 70th minute and then scored the game-winner with just 1:07 remaining. It was the Lady Pioneers’ first loss of the season.

Stevenson, who set a school record with 51 points on 17 goals and as many assists (another school record) last season, leads the 2004 Foresters with 10 goals and 27 points and is tied-for-second with seven assists. She has had at least one goal or assist in 10 of the team’s 13 games.
