Melissa Stevenson Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior scored the game-tying and winning goals in crucial victory

Melissa Stevenson tied the game and scored the winning goal with 1:07 remaining in the contest.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Melissa Stevenson (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (October 14) for her contributions to the Foresters’ 3-2 victory over Carroll College on Saturday (October 9).

Lake Forest fell behind to visiting Carroll College by two goals early in the second half but pulled to within one in the game’s 57th minute. Stevenson then tied the score with 20:28 remaining and eventually found the back of the net again with the game-winner with just 1:07 left on the clock.

Neither the Foresters nor the Lady Pioneers had a loss on its Midwest Conference record going into the game. The victory raised Lake Forest’s overall mark to 11-2-0 and its league record to 7-0-0. Carroll fell to 9-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the MWC.
