Mallory Davis Named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week
Junior helped lead team to pair of 1-0 victories

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Mallory Davis (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday (October 15) for her performance in a pair of Forester 1-0 shutouts over the weekend (October 13-14).

Davis, a junior sweeper, helped anchor a Forester defense that blanked two-time defending league champion Grinnell College and limited the Pioneers to just eight shots on Saturday. The Lake Forest goalkeeper needed to make just four saves in the contest.

Lake Forest also recorded a shutout at Beloit College on Sunday. Davis and the rest of the squad limited the Buccaneers to 10 shots, including five on goal, in the game.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Davis is the third defensive player on the team to earn the honor this season.
