Lisa Sorensen Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Freshman scored three goals in 4-3 double-overtime victory

Lisa Sorensen
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Lisa Sorensen (Muskegon, Mich./Western Michigan Christian) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (October 15) for her performance in a 4-3 double-overtime victory at Benedictine University the previous night.

Sorensen, a freshman forward, scored three of the team’s four goals in the contest for her first career hat trick. Her score at 15:47 was the only goal of the first half and her second goal of the game put the visitors ahead 3-1 with 11 minutes to play in regulation. After Benedictine came back to tie the score, she kicked in the game-winner over the goalie’s outstretched arms from more than 20 yards away and with just 55 seconds remaining in the second overtime.

Sorensen ranks second on the team with 11 goals and 23 points this season. It was her fourth multi-goal performance of the year and she leads the squad with a pair of game-winners.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
