Foresters Fall in Overtime Against Carroll
Own goal does in the home team

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Forester women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 in overtime Wednesday (October 16) by Carroll College. The loss drops Lake Forest's overall record on the year to 5-8-0 and its Midwest Conference mark to 2-4-0. Carroll is still undefeated in conference play (5-0-0) and is 10-2-0 overall.

Senior goalkeeper Rachael LaFin (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West) tallied 10 saves in the loss and was not to blame for the game's only score, as a miscommunication led to an "own goal". LaFin now has 83 saves on the season and at least 10 in six of her last seven games.

The Foresters will look to rebound from the loss this weekend (October 19-20) when they host two more MWC games. Monmouth College comes to Lake Forest on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. match and Illinois College will take on the Foresters at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Lake Forest has never lost to either school, going 5-0-0 all-time against each of them.
