Lake Forest Falls to Dominican in Double-Overtime
Foresters come back from two goals down to force extra time

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Forester women’s soccer team lost to visiting Dominican University 3-2 in double-overtime on Wednesday (October 17). Lake Forest fell to 8-6-1 on the season while the Stars raised their record to 8-6-0.

Dominican scored the only goal of the opening period at the 25:42 mark and added a score on a breakaway at 62:16.

The Foresters got on the scoreboard at 69:20 when freshman Emily Weber (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seven Hills Upper School) headed in a pass from classmate Bianca Greene (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica).Greene then tied the score when her free kick at 75:18 found the upper-right corner of the goal. Both Weber and Greene now have three goals on the season.

After one scoreless 10-minute overtime period, the Stars scored the game-winning goal in the 103rd minute of the contest.

Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play this weekend (October 20-21). The Foresters will play Saturday at noon at Illinois College and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at Monmouth College.
