AURORA, IL - The Lake Forest College women's soccer team won the first
78 minutes of their game at Aurora University on Thursday (October 19th),
but two goals in the last 12 minutes for the home team turned a 2-1 victory
into a 3-2 defeat for the Foresters.
Lake Forest did get on the scoreboard first with two first-half goals.
Senior midfielder Kim
Sponsel (San Diego, CA/Mira Mesa) scored her 6th sixth goal of the
year after just six minutes of play. Fellow senior midfielder Erin
Sovick (Fort Collins, CO/Poudre) followed it up with her fifth of the
season with an assist from another senior, forward Beth
Kohr (Franklin, OH/Franklin), her second of 2000.
Lake Forest will play one more non-conference game at home against Carthage
College on Saturday (October 21st) at 11:00 AM and will close out their
regular season when they host MWC foe Carroll College on Tuesday (October
24th) at 3:30 PM. |
