LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Lake Forest College women’s soccer player Alison Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) was selected as the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday (October 22) for her performance in a pair of Forester victories over the weekend (October 20-21).

Lynch, a junior goalkeeper, recorded a pair of saves on Saturday as Lake Forest prevailed 5-1 at Illinois College.

On Sunday the Foresters clinched a berth in the four-team MWC Tournament by posting a 1-0 victory at Monmouth College. Lynch recorded four saves in the contest, including two in the closing minutes. It was her seventh complete game shutout of the year and fourth 1-0 victory in the team’s last six games.

Lynch is 10-6-1 on the season with a 1.18 goals against average.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league’s sports information director. Lynch also earned the award on September 10 and Lake Forest players have received the honor four times this season.
