4-1 loss to UW-Whitewater on Sunday (October 23). The defeat dropped the Foresters’ overall record to 8-6-2, but the squad’s 5-2-2 mark in the Midwest Conference is good enough for the fourth seed in this weekend’s league tournament.

Despite heavy rain and hail, Lake Forest managed to hold the visitors to one goal in the first period, but UW-Whitewater opened the second period with goals in the 53rd and 57th minutes to post a 3-0 advantage. In the 71st minute, freshman midfielder Jaymie Honold (Kapolei, HI/Kapolei) put the home team on the scoreboard with her fifth goal of the season. However, UW-Whitewater answered twelve minutes later with its fourth and final goal.

Lake Forest will enter the Midwest Conference Tournament as the fourth seed and battle top-seeded Grinnell College on Saturday (October 29) at 2 p.m. in Grinnell, Iowa. The winner of that game will play the winner of tournament’s opening game between number two Carroll College and the third-seeded Monmouth College. Two weekends ago, the Foresters scored three goals in the second period to beat Grinnell 3-2.
