Lake Forest, Ill. – The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team closed out it 2006 Midwest Conference schedule with a 6-1 loss at home to Carroll College on Tuesday (October 24). The Foresters are now 8-7-0 overall and 6-3-0 in league play. The Lady Pioneers raised their overall record to 9-5-0 and their MWC mark to 6-1-0.

Carroll jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a score at 8:46 and another just 44 seconds later. The visitors tallied two more at 28:07 and 28:50 and added a fifth goal at 42:55. Forester freshman Emily Sadler (Everett, Wash./Cascade Senior) put the home team on the scoreboard just 25 seconds later with her third goal of the season.

The scoring barrage slowed considerably in the second half, although the Lady Pioneers did manage to add one to their score in the game’s 54th minute.

While the Foresters have completed their conference schedule, most of the teams in the league will play eight of the other nine members will play a pair of league games this weekend. Lake Forest is not yet assured of being one of the four teams to qualify for the MWC Tournament, but the vast majority of possible scenarios lead to a fourth-place finish for the Foresters.

Lake Forest will conclude its regular season at Wheaton College at 4:30 Friday (October 27) afternoon.
